Troop 65 Short History
Troop 65 is based in Mint Hill, NC and we are sponsored by Philadelphia Presbyterian Church. Together, we have achieved over 50 years of adventures in scouting.
Troop 65 is a boy-led Troop which strives to teach our boys the principles of scouting and help them to learn through merit badges, scout outings, rank advancement, community involvement, summer camp and fund raising.
The Boy Scouts of Troop 65 are lead by the "Old Fossil" patrol, which currently consists of 10 scoutmasters, and our Committee of 10 leaders.
Currently, Troop 65 is made up of 37 scouts Troop 65 has been associated with Pack 65, also sponsored by Philadelphia Presbyterian Church. Troop 65 has been the beneficiary of numerous scouts from Pack 65 and the Troop is strengthening its bonds with the pack by strengthening its Den chief Program. This is being done in an attempt to be more visible to the Pack and promote the Boy Scouting program to the Pack.
As Troop 65 looks to the future, steady membership growth and good times are anticipated. Troop 65 developed and maintains this website for a variety of reasons including:
Keeping our Scouts and Scouting families informed.
The Internet provides the fastest way to communicate schedule changes, and late breaking news.
Sharing our adventures with family, friends and the Scouting community. Letting our community and the world know about our Troop, its activities and objectives.
Scouting offers something for our community's youth and gives back to the community through service projects.
Most people aren't aware of this and we hope to add yet another way of communicating this through the Internet.
And hey, we may even get lucky and recruit some new Scouts to our Troop! We hope you enjoy your visit to virtual Troop 65
